February 2, 2010A new web resource is up and running to help Minnesota communities measure trends and progress with the most current, credible data available.
January 20, 2010 March is nationally recognized as Women’s History Month and it will be
kicked off again this year with an Opening Celebration at Bemidji State
University (BSU). The event will take place on Saturday, February 27th
at 11:00 a.m. along with the 2010 Northwest Minnesota Women’s Hall of
Fame induction ceremony, honoring Laddie Elwell of Bemidji.
January 6, 2010 Sixteen ideas with the potential to be profitable business ventures
were recently advanced to Round Two of the IDEA Competition. Round One
of the competition closed November 30 and judges reviewed all
submissions in December.
November 23, 2009 The Capacity Development Initiative (CDI) is providing technical assistance and grant funding to help build the capacity of Northwest Minnesota service organizations. Northwest Minnesota Foundation is the intermediary for the federal government's Compassion Capital Fund program.
October 13, 2009 The Northwest Minnesota Foundation announced that its Capacity Development Initiative has been awarded a $474,500 Compassion Capital Fund grant by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services. With additional resources contributed by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, a total of $605,700 will be directed towards strengthening Northwest Minnesota nonprofit and faith-based organizations.
October 12, 2009 The Northwest Minnesota Foundation LeaderImpact program is entering its third year of providing leadership training for people with a desire for greater impact in the world. Individuals seeking ways to make positive changes in the effectiveness of their work or business and how it affects their lives will benefit from this program.
October 09, 2009 Applications for the second annual IDEA Competition are flowing in according to Project Coordinator, Michelle Landsverk. She said, "Judging by the number of applications already received, we anticipate a 20% increase in the number of applications this year."
October 05, 2009 - The Northwest Minnesota Women's Fund recently announced the recipients of the regional Outstanding Community Builder awards: Sister Dolores Norman of Crookston, Mary Campbell of Bemidji and Audrey Eickhof of Crookston. People residing in the region nominated these women because of the impact of their lives and significant differences they have made in improving their communities as volunteers, mentors, in their chosen professions, and raising or supporting families.
