Regional Initiatives

In addition to supporting charitable activities and business ventures through grants and loans, NMF also conducts special projects under its own initiative. These efforts typically involve intensive collaboration with mulitple organizations in which NMF plays the role of convener and facilitator, as well as funder. They are usually regional in scope, requiring resources and expertise beyond the capacity of any single project partner. It is precisely the regional nature of such efforts that lends itself well to NMF's focus on Northwest Minnesota as a whole, on making the entire region a better place to live and work.
